Choosing the screen surface

When choosing the screen surface we decided to keep our options open for both the FTIR and DI setup. Arcylic works well with both methods although a compliant surface is still needed for the FTIR setup.

We shopped around cork until we found Blarney Trading Limited who specialise in plastic sheeting:

We ordered a large sheet (100×100cm) for testing purposes. We knew we would have to re cut the large acrylic sheet for the prototype, but in the meantime it gave us flexibility when deciding between 16:9 or 4:3 screen ratios.

We may consider upgrading the acrylic to a different material all depending on how well it works with our set up.
